1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Family Law Assist ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Family Law Assist (operated by Rapid Policies Australia Pty Ltd, ABN registered in Australia).

2. Description of Service

Family Law Assist provides an AI-powered assistant ("Themis") that offers general information about Australian family law. The Service is designed to help users understand family law concepts, procedures, and their general rights and obligations under Australian law.

3. Important Disclaimer — Not Legal Advice

Themis is an AI assistant that provides general legal information only. The information provided does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such.

Specifically, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • The Service provides general information about Australian family law, not advice specific to your individual circumstances.
  • No solicitor-client relationship is created by using this Service.
  • You should consult a qualified Australian family lawyer for advice specific to your situation.
  • AI-generated information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.
  • Family law matters are complex and fact-specific — what applies in one situation may not apply in yours.
  • Decisions made based solely on information from this Service are made at your own risk.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

5. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials.
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

6. Subscription Plans and Payments

Family Law Assist offers free and paid subscription tiers. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees as described on the pricing page.
  • Provide valid payment information and authorise recurring charges.
  • Acknowledge that subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by Australian Consumer Law.
  • Accept that we may change pricing with 30 days' notice.

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.

7. Acceptable Use

  • Violate any applicable Australian or international laws or regulations.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other persons.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
  • We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely accurate.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified.
